Hotel Room: hotel room du Passage, hotel room de Herten-kamp (recently modernized) and Parkhotel room (formerly the Pomona), lifted to first-class levels in its newer portion, are other places of moderate tariffs. As regards Scheveningen, I must mention again the new 500-room Grand hotel room, on the seafront. It is set down under the luxury section because of its modern comforts and its Shower with every room, but it is a popular-priced establishment. It offers a weekly rate, with meals, of f.100 including service and everything, which is an impressively small $25 (roughly). That is a bargain indeed. The place even maintains a nursery, with two nurses (or baby sitters) constantly in attendance.

If a computer reservations system is used, a room status map can be displayed showing each room in the hotel room. A code is used to indicate the current room status. For example, VC indicates vacant and clean, and OD indicates occupied and dirty. The code OO or OOO is commonly used to indicate that a room is out of order— under construction, painting, repair, and so forth.
