French Hotels And Most: Hotels are generally grouped in four main categories: commercial or transient hotels; resort hotels; residential hotels; and motels, or motor hotels. In the United States about 75% of the hotel rooms (excluding motels) are in commercial hotels, 16% in resort hotels (both summer and winter seasons), and the remaining 9% in residential hotels. About 80% of the American motel rooms are in commercial establishments and the remainder in resort motels.
Its bars and public rooms help set a hob status in the community—which the isil quickly senses. Fashionable inhabitants of M drid have been packing the bar of the Pala Hotel in the Spanish capital for years; ai French hotels and most journalists stopped carping about tl Paris Hilton when chic Parisians started gathe ing in its Le Western bar. Another factor in hotel's rating is its location; in a city hotel coi venience and fashionable neighborhood are di sirable; in a resort hotel, a sea or mountai situation and view.
Some famous Hotels. Every world traveler an hotelier has his own list of the great hotels o the world, and hundreds qualify. While choia is subjective, most lists would include many o; the following city hotels.
There are thousands, throughout the country, with the same spirit and I have little patience with those harsh dealers in generalities who proclaim that all European hoteliers are a race of robbers, basing their judgment, perhaps, on one unhappy experience, where their own unfamiliarity with foreign charges for service and taxes may have been the cause of an altercation.
Before leaving the subject of hotel thrift, I must mention the "Christmas present" recently given to tourism by 500 Paris hotels, their example being shortly followed by similar action on the part of hotels on the French hotels and most Riviera and elsewhere.
