ROBINSON, (Esme Stuart) Lennox, Irish dramatist: b. Douglas, County Cork, Ireland, Oct. 4, 1886; d. Dublin, Ireland, Oct. 14, 1958. The playwright's life was closely identified with Dublin's Abbey Theatre, of which he was manager 1910-14 and 1919-23 and a director from 1923 until his death. Many of his plays were produced by the theater, in England and the United States as well as in Ireland. From 1915 to 1925 he was also organizing librarian for the Carnegie Trust in Ireland. He visited the United States frequently, lecturing on Irish literature.
